new guy with a 83

hey all, picked up a 83 ranger with a 302/c4 that some one hacked into the engine bay. wiring is everywhere, the plumbing is god awful and a safety issue, the interior is trashed, only the driver's wiper works, the list goes on. the good is i got it for a fair price, its rust free, and im a helicopter mechanic so wiring and plumbing is right up my alley. im in the eastern VA area, pics will come eventually.

i plan on a full replumb, a tbi fuel system, 8.8 swap, buckets, a full rewire, and a nice little restomod cruiser.

Around here anything with a carb is the first to go to the crusher so parts may be hard to find unless you find a cheap donor vehicle. LMC truck has alot of interior parts can be a good source for new. I like wiring myself most everything you need will be at the 8 wire grey connector if you want to get the guages working look for 8 volts pulsing with the key on those go to the sending units. Just short it to ground and see which guage it is for. There is a two wire connecter key on hot and start circuits hopefully they didnt chop into the chassis harness thetre your on your own. I can`t recall a TBI conversion for the 302 it would be a good write up keep us posted on your progress.

if funds work out i want to toss on one of the edlebrock or f.a.s.t. aftermarket tbi systems. they are 1700-2500 bucks but are basically factory sytle efi systems stolen from gm designs with a 4150 flange instead of that 2 barrel oval thing they did.

also im about to post up some pics....took me two months...
