If you know your big rigs, you would know sterling is ford made...what do you think about putting a sterling emblem on the grill where the ford emblem is? Goes with the color of the truck (black/white/chrome)

Opinions please?

That's actually a pretty cool idea. But i still think nothing beats the Ford logo

i think the new ones are crysler made, atleast the smaller ones like 1 ton, and such

Im talking 12k+ Big rigs...Thats what I see everyday lol...I might just do it, if I dont like it, I'll take it off...but yea nothing beats that ol blue oval.

Is your Ranger a Sterling? Might as well put a Kia emblem on; they are about the same shape too

No, my rangers a ford, and ford makes sterling. I deal with sterlings every day. So if I DO end up with the badge on there , Im supporting ford in 2 ways. Did I simplify that enough for you?

i like the idea post up some pics if/when you do it

Go for it!

can't be any worse than what I did......LOL

one of the TRS members showed me some EBAY items that I bought & modified to fit my Parts/Pieces '36-'89 Ranger.....

Dude....research befreo you leap off the bridge and die....lol

Here!! Here is some info, please read and weep this:

Ford's products are made by Ford. Sterling right now makes nothing, as their production was shut down in 2009.
In 1997, Ford decided to get out of the Class 7 and Class 8 truck markets. Their heavy truck production was bought out by Daimler A.G., which is the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, and Thomas Built Buses, among others (at the time, they were also the parent company of Chrysler). Daimler A.G. decided to revive the Sterling name (the rights to which were actually owned by Volvo, but the marque had been out of production for so long that they had no grounds to object).

So....the bage is WRONG and you are WRONG....lol

Umm, no need to simplify, but thanks. So with that logic I should grab a Lincoln or Mercury badge for my Ranger while I am at the salvage yard tomorrow?

It just me but if I am going to put a badge (that doesn't apply) on my truck other than Ford, it would be a Mazda badge after doing a B4000 conversion (somethin I do not plan to do). You asked for opinions and I gave you mine. I am sorry you don't like it. If you can't take the good with then bad don't ask.

I was planning on throwing a Land Rover badge on my 95 Ranger. Was hoping to make my own Land Rover pickup

Only non-Ranger badge on my truck is this:

It's a "V6 3.0 LITRE" badge off a Dodge Spirit, and I for one like my 3.0, although I suppose the FFV leaf badge is a giveaway also. My friend was going to get one from the JY for his 98 3.0 too, but most are cracked or else wont come off easily.

Different Sterling, but the rear axles in most Ford fullsizes are called Sterlings.

It is your truck, put BMW badges on it if you want. :icon_thumby:

I kind of agree with this. Its a Ford Ranger, I would leave the Ford badge on there.
