New grill emblem?

Different Sterling, but the rear axles in most Ford fullsizes are called Sterlings.

It is your truck, put BMW badges on it if you want. :icon_thumby:

That is right, Bro!!!!! Why not a Hummer badge???
You know what?? Why even have the stupid badges? Who 'F' ing cares about some stinking badges....hmmmm... I am getting a tailgate wrap this summer that a buddy of mine is doing for me for free. I designed the tailgate wrap and I designed the hood blackout decal that I am going to surprise all of you guys with!!!! I posted this about 2 months ago. I do hope the hood blackout comes out like my design that I made. My buddy works at one of those 'vinyl and decal' sign places. He does custom banners as well. He is removing all my decals on the tailgate and the Ford badge. So...I will remove the grill badge as well. Haaaaaaa...I am starting a new trend.....I am a trend setter, guys!!!!! lol
I will post photos as soon as I get the hood blackout added. It should be in about 1-2 weeks!!!!!!

Go for it!

can't be any worse than what I did......LOL

one of the TRS members showed me some EBAY items that I bought & modified to fit my Parts/Pieces '36-'89 Ranger.....

That looks awesome DG. The next time I'm in NO I wanna see it in person

Actually no badges is called debadging. It's what people in la la land do. I've actually seen a 2010 civic with attached Acura decals, but they made up their own 2 letter emblem to make it seem like a real acura. It's also how you pretend your 325i BMW is a 335 debadged with a body kit.

Back in the 80's while I was racing in SCCA in Sebring, Fl and a few other places in between my military duties with my 72 TR6 and my 74 MGB and my Porsche 72 911S there were a lot of cars with no emblems. I just never thought about taking off the emblems. I did think that was so different to not have any emblems on a car. I remember when I had my highly modified and lowered and wide tired 65 VW bug painted the original white back in 1977 the guy that did it was a good buddy of mine. He wanted to see how my chrome trim would look painted white. It came out really neat looking and I left it that way. I went to a car show in my bug one Saturday in Daytona and I noticed that people were looking at my bug!!! I thought they were going to mess with it because it was a bug. People were taking photos of it and saying it was a really neat approach to a custom look!! I thought....'What'?? People were saying it was a new paint scheme. They were calling it monochrome (I believe that is the correct term).
My bug had an 1800cc 125 hp motor in it and it was not a slouch with the 5 speed 914 Porsche tranny in it. It did get a lot of attention. My dad bought that bug brand new in 65 while were were living in Africa and brought it back to the states in 69. I kept that bug until 83 and sold it when I came home on leave for a few weeks. It was a great bug. I had wish I never sold it but my dad said I had too many cars in the driveway and the garage, and I was always deployed to another country for a while and had no time to work on my cars and bikes. All my stuff was in his way!!!! lol

Rebadging should only be done to reflect mods done on the truck. If you put a 5.0 in the ranger go ahead and slap on the badge. Just putting bs badges on the truck is stupid as well as false advertisement. Now if you were using the power/drivetrain out of a sterling in your ranger then by all means slap the logo on there. I'll be running rockwell axles one i get them put back together, i plan on doing the color change mod on the ford logo but actually keep it blue and have a sillouette of the rockwell symbol behind the lettering. It'll be something you really have to look for.

Also really common in TV commercials and low budget movies when they don't want to pay rights to the car companies.

The only technically "correct" badge on my truck is the oval on the grille and the F O R D lettering across the tailgate. It has Custom badges on the fenders, which are not correct for a '85... they didn't exist yet. I like them because my truck is fairly customized, kind of as a pun. It also sports Explorer V8 badges on the fender where it should have had V6 badges... but didn't.

So I suppose someday I will meet a purist that will be all excited and will try to get in my face because my truck isn't correct (I have seen it happen at tractor shows)... for $50k I will sell it and he can make it correct. Until then it is mine and I will do with it what I choose. :icon_thumby:

As long as its not an 'FMF' sticker over the Ford emblem like I see all the time then have at it!
