New Girl

Ah, I had to search for it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unholy_Rollers

Keep in mind I was a tender but chubby 16 when it came out...and was inspired by it so much that I grew my hair long and wore a bra for three months before I realized I wasn't a woman...so I took up martial arts instead and the rest is herstory...

Hahah.. I love how I am reading these posts going.. wait..wha?.. Oh, ok.. naw..WHAT?? Cracking me up, or maybe that's the straw-ber-rita..:icon_cheers:

For me I have a '13 Sonic RS, she's got the whoppin 1.4l turbo engine and a fun 6 speed manual.

The red car you saw was my '03 Pontiac Vibe. She was the one who got me started and gave me the confidence that I can rip stuff apart, do something to it, and then successfully put it back. I didn't get to do anything mechanical to her because she had other issues that I couldn't get past.. so then my new One True Love came along, I call her Valkyrie.

I've proudly replaced the shifter bushings, installed an intake (Oh that turbo sound..) and have everything I need except the computer to shove off an extra 36hp in the form of a Trifecta tune. I have several exterior upgrades done as well. In the very near future she will get an aftermarket exhaust and some Eibach lowering springs.

And really I don't mind the snooping.. I am a firm believer that if you don't want people on the internet to see it, don't put it on the internet.

i can see my youngest driving one of those when he gets old enough.....he is 7 now and beats up the old escort pretty good.

my neighbors shit when they realized he can drive it by himself, sometimes he stalls it a bit still because the clutch chatter is so bad, but he rips through the gears as good as me when he gets rolling.

he would love a turbo sonic.:icon_thumby:

neat little car. what kind of mpg does it pull?

You have just witnessed the ghouls on TRS at our worst (sort of)...and you handled it with class and humour...it wasn't really a test...it was just the way things go sometimes on here...some find it terribly annoying...:dunno:

I guess being a night nurse you've seen some pretty weird stuff...so tearing apart a Ranger (or other vehicle) can be great therapy...that's how I got involved...and have never looked back.

I almost took the training for RNA (if they still have that designation) but figured I could only change so many bed pans before going off the deep end and starting my own steel drum bed pan band and beat it for all it was worth....if I only had an ounce of rhythm...:)

Bobby, the LT or LTZ Turbo Sonics will get you in the 50s MPG if you drive them nicely, and pull a great average in the low 40s even with modifications and abuse. Mine is an RS which is a little lower, a little heavier (Do those rear discs make my butt look big?) and she's geared lower. I run about 500RPM higher at any speed than the others. This translates to not stellar but still pretty great MPG. I can do 40s if I want to drive like a granny, but my average has been as high as 32-37.

Mark, I guess I'm just not the average normalperson. I enjoy people in general and yeah, as a Nurse, especially at night when all the dementia really ramps up, and everyone is slightly delirious from lack of sleep.. you should see the madness. In fact you can probably see the madness in my eyes. I also like to kill things with a sharp stick on a string if that helps the image better, LOL.

My car (and in the future the Ranger) IS DEFINITELY my therapy.

OK, right out the box with stupid question #1:How do I know what kind of parts my parts are?(lol)

I was surfing through the technical stuff and went to look at the axles and stuff there and I don't have a clue which subsection to pick. I don't have a manual and I bought the truck used... where can I go to get the info on what the pieces are?

Haha...sharp sticks on strings are not typical nursing paraphernalia so I take it you have other hobbies to amuse yourself with...:icon_rofl:

Well, you might want to post pics of your particular parts here and someone can direct you more appropriately...

You could also start your own build thread...doesn't have to be specific initially and I'm sure you will get plenty of people following and providing input...

You've already caught the attention of Adsm08 who is one our Gurus and usually willing to impart his expansive knowledge...and our recent crop of new Moderators have an uncanny sense of where things should be posted and they usually wave their magic wands and instantly pop posts into places where they will get the attention they need...

Another member in Kansas? Sweet! Welcome to TRS!

Hola! You're in my old stomping grounds. I'm from Yates Center.. I terrorized that town in high school in my little 90 2wd 5spd ranger. I kinda miss it a little. The only vehicle I've ever had on two wheels. Oops.

If that's the only one then you're not trying hard enough!
