I have started to put new gaskets on my lower manifold and have reached the point where I have removed the 6 star bolts, but it won't budge. Is there anything else holding it?

also, when was following the manual I avoided loosening the intake pushrod on the passenger side and since I have not moved the truck since I parked it in the garage. Is this necessary?

You have to pull the Camshaft Syncronizer. Thats whats preventing the lower intake manifold from coming off. If your not careful, trying take the lower manifold off before that is removed, you take a chance on bending one or more of your pushrods.

Check the top sticky for the proper procedure for removing Camshift Syncronizer

Michael,

Thanks for the good information!
