New from MS

New here from Mississippi. Just bought a 99 Ranger 3.0 4x4. Unfortunately the 4x4 isn't working. This is my 2nd Ranger. My first was a 2000 2.5 2wd extended cab flare side.

check out the shift motor, it's probably just worn out. you can replace it or find a manual t-case

Thanks. I don't know that its the shift motor. Dash is indicating that its shifting into 4x4

does it turn your front drive shaft?
might be a hub issue

I haven't been able to check yet. First chance I had to off road it was yesterday., didn't check all the components. I had advice from the 4wd part of the forum that said it may be a hub issue.

I had an issue goin up a hill but gunned it and finally made it up
