New engine for my 3.0 Ranger

I want to put a new engine in my 98 V6 3.0 Ford Ranger 4x4 and was wondering if I could get some suggestions as to what I can do. My current engine has 236000 mile on it. Its the original engine but I think it might be time for a new one. Please any suggestions.
