replaced whole top end on my 93 ranger 4.0. brand new heads, push rods, roller rockers, and what not. went to do first turn over and it just turns over and will not fire. injectors are squirting and has spark. the thing is you spray a little starting fluid in it and it backfires shooting a beach ball size flame out the intake manifold. haha. checked timing and its off. any ideas on how this happened? whats wrong?

are you sure your plug wires are going to the right cylinders? did you remove the cam position sensor?

My question is,where did you find your roller rockers.I only knew about one company that made them years ago and they had alot of problems and quit making them.

i never removed the cam position sensor, and the firing order is correct. but i was thinking i put a new accel coil pack on for shits and giggles... do you think by any chance that the coil pack is messed up or that they sent me the wrong one? i mean i have spark when i test it but who knows if its firing correct...

its possible i know som eof the aftermarket ones sometimes have problem, put the stock one back on ots not that hard.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having a similar problem, however mine will run, but is missing on cylinder #2.
