New Comp 410 cam has a chip w/pictures

Is this serious enough to send back to Comp? I'm not that impressed with the overall machine work on this cam either. I realize this is just cast iron then machined but Comp could have done a better overall job cleaning up the casting flash and the rough jagged edges. I don't think the roller will interfere with this but i also don't want the cam coming apart if there is an underlying issue.

That thing should be nothing short of perfect. A chip like that is unacceptable for a new product. Send it back to them and if they try to screw you over say you want your money back so you can buy elsewhere.

I'm impressed with Comp's customer service. One call to a technition and the matter was resolved. They are sending out a new cam today and I'll return the old cam with their prepaid label. That's why they continue to get my business.
