Like the title says. I replaced shocks and coil springs on my 93 and the front end bounces like the shocks are bad. The front end also sits really low, the difference between the front and rear ride height is 3in!!!! :icon_surprised: And I've read here that the difference should only be 1.5in. The coil springs I installed were supposed to be for an Explorer (Moog CC870). I thought maybe those would give me some lift. Apparently not. Would a difference of 4lbs of spring rate give me a lower ride height? The CC866 springs have a rate of 489 vs. 485.

The height of the springs would. Are they physically shorter springs ?
Also have you checked your body bushings ? Some of that may be comming from bad bushings up front.

I know my front body bushings are bad. But the springs are supposed to be the same size as the ones I replaced. I still have negative camber like I did before I replaced the coil springs and shocks. This is what leads me to believe that something is up with the springs.

well my first question is where are you measuring from because i've heard or some weird places people tried to measure. secondly. i would check the bushings and get those replaced. and third if you are really not happy with that much rake either do the washer lift or buy lift coils

to answer your question, 4lbs of spring rate isn't going to change anything. as for the sagging front end and bounce ride.... maybe have a look at the beam and rad arm bushings. not like these ride like a caddy to begin with. coil spacers are cheap. wish i didn't just throw some away last week or i would offer em to you.

I measure the middle of the wheel wells front and rear. And the rake is quite noticeable. You can see it really good, even a few feet away.

i do not have the moog book in front of me, but i believe the cc 866 may be what you are looking for ... they have the highest spring rate for the application. i am looking for a softer spring rate for my 4cyl 2wd build. i think the cc840's will work for me
