I have a 98 ranger that I just put in a new clutch, slave & flywheel. I got everything back together & bleed the clutch. I didn't fill the tranny with fluid because I didn't to drain it again if I had to take everything apart. Anyways I raised the rear up then when I started it I went to go put it in 1st when the tires started moving. Any suggestions? Just want to clarify I didn't have it in 1st it was just before I shifted into 1st.

Sounds like it's in gear. Are you sure the shifter is actually in N?

when it's in neutral the tires dont move. the tires only start moving when I move the stick over to were the 1st gear position is, right at the moment I'm about to put it in 1st

So it's still out in the neutral gate, between 1st and 2nd, clutch to the floor, and the tires start to turn?

yes, clutch in. tires start to turn right when I line up the stick to put it in 1st & push up. I want to be clear though I'm not actually putting it into 1st but starting to push the stick up like I'm putting it into 1st.

Your clutch isn't disengaging. That's a given seeing as the tires have motion while the pedal is depressed. Did you bench bleed the master?
