got my $90 clutch hydraulic line (master to slave) and after bench bleeding the assy, am attempting to put it in, why did they mold this thing? cant figure out how to get it where it needs to go, dont want to break it either. need to get things together so i can flat-tow it out to the farm to replace a bent l.f. ttb. (dont ask...) cannot figure out how this molded line goes in place.

I'll be honest in advance, I'm unsure since I'm auto. I do know that we were doing a line swap on an S10 V8 conversion and we couldn't bench bleed it. We had to put the line in first and then bleed it later. I'm sure someone else will chime in though.

Oh, this was fun. :) I just did this a couple weeks ago. Don't connect the clutch master cylinder to the firewall or the other end to the slave cylinder yet. The line has to go down under the brake lines near the frame and then go up over the frame and down to the slave cylinder. It was a real bear to fight the molded bends into place without kinkng anything. Only after you get the line in place should you attempt to put the master cylinder in place. I also removed the 4 nuts securing the master brake booster assembly under the dash so I could move that big hunk of stuff around to get the clutch master cylinder and line where I wanted them.
Oh, and if you are having trouble getting the quick connect into the slave cylinder, just barely open the bleeder screw and then push it in--the pressure in the SC may keep you from being able to get it in initially. If you want, I can try to take some photos later.

yeah, i did have to unbolt the brake booster/master cyl assy from the firewall to get the one bolt on the clutch master cyl off, i wonder if removing the plastic inner wheelwell liner would help me out any? wish they would have used a s.s. flex hose instead of that hard-molded plastic. good greif, 90 bucks for a hyd line! i thought about using my old line, but its real rusty and since im going to the time, expense & trouble of rebuilding the entire ttb, replacing the whole l.h. side, i might as well put on a new clutch hyd line. had to replace the clutch master cyl regardless, fitting from the reservior was broken off. that was only a 40 dollar part. sure, pictures would be great if you have some, have had no luck with internet searches.

It is not fun. I've gotten good at it, but it is not fun. I can do it, I can't really tell you how.

It's just not fun.

I had removed my inner fender when I put mine in. That hard plastic is more durable than you might think, just don't let it kink. I don't think you'll have any problem with that, though.
