I have another engine I'm going to put in my 08 ranger someday along with a rebuilt transmission. I was thinking of upgrading the cams since I saw some on crowers page. However they're listed as 2003-2007. Will they work in an 08? The motor I have is actually an 07. I noticed that the tuners I was looking at also only went to 07. Is there something different about 08+ that I couldn't use these? Will the factory ecu learn a new cam set on its own without a tuner? Any of you use the crower stage one cams?

the 2018 Ford Performance Parts catalog lists the 2.3 Duratec as 2001-2007. :dntknw:
the 2.0 Duratec is listed as 2005-TBD,,,,

if you go to NAPA, the choices for a 2009 Ranger are 4.0 or 2.3

It's odd. Everything appears exactly the same between the 07, 08, and my brothers '10.

Doubtful that there are any differences that would be problematic for a cam swap. You'll absolutely need a PCM tune though.

The only changes to the 2.3 duratec from 2001 - 2011 (that I know) was the elimination of the stupid swirl control flaps, and the IAT and MAF were combined in 2002-2003. Sometimes parts catalogs just never get updated so it says "2001-2007" because 2007 was the last time they updated the catalog.
