well I got a new cam on the way I just need to find some roller followers. the cam is a 260 advertised duration with a .410 lift intake and exhaust on a 114 centerline.
it should be good for about ten horsepower but about 20 lbs ft of torque across the board. and the mileage should increase by 2 to 3 miles per gallon.

now on a different note my truck seems to have a different gear ratio in the tranny than stock. My friend who owned the truck had the trans sieze up on him so he put a tranny in out of a 4 wheel drive(he changed the rear output shaft)and now the rpm's are high. @ 60 mph it used to be about 1800 rpm's now they are about 2600 rpm. has anyone heard of this before and how do I know what tranny is in this thing now?

What kind of cam did you get?I don't know about that trans,Is it all the way thur the gears or just 5th?

Is it going to be a regrind or is it a new roller? Can we ask you how much?

it is a regrind but it will be just fine as I am not going to spin the motor that high.
I will let you know what the total cost is when I pick it up. I am having a hard time finding the roller followers.

I probably have a set laying around somewheres

having lower gears in the trans is a good thing for the 2.0, 2.3 now when cruising your putting the engine in its power range. so you will put less strain on the engine. therefore increasing your gas mileage.

4x4 transmission have the gears set at a lower gear ratio than 2wd. this is to account for the extra weight of the transfercase. and to drive the front axle when in 4hi.

yeah but at 60 mph the speedo is reading about 83 and the engine is spinning about 3000 rpm so it is killing my mileage
