Here is the old one. It was 7" almost 1/2 thick C channel. I broke a 9500 cable on this thing and it barely left a bend.

This entire thing is .120 1.5" tube. Half dom and half mild steel. It still has a way to go now but its coming along nicely. As i make more progress ill update this thread.

Beauty shot for gooooood measure

Looks good, but you need more support on the frame brackets or you will have serious issues as soon as you tap anything... You need a gusset or tube or something going from the lower bumper tube in the front to the rectangle tube going parallel to the ground or whatever meets the top support tube thing...

That gives me ideas for my Explorer, but that's after suspension... and that's several months out...

Here is just about the finished product now. I just need to do some more bracing and bolt the winch in now.

Updated the bumper with a brush bar and removable winch mount. I like this set up ten times more before I don't need to carry around 100lb on the already heavy front end. Plus the Dom brush bar is great for tight wheeling spots. I can put the front end against a tree and just drive into it to push my truck around tight corners.

I like the idea of a receiver mounted winch... a lot. Not just because it can be put on the rear... but because most times I simply don't need it on the truck.

Thanks for showing off the finished bumper. Sure offers up good protection for the front of the truck. I've always liked tube bumpers... probably due to all the buggy stuff I've built over the years.

I am going to move this post over to the Bumper/ Slider Forum...

Nicely done for sure. It looks like you need some of these in your future...

Actually have some of those on there now. I'm thinking about making another plate with big 10" led pods and running that when I'm winch isn't on. Would be stupid bright just for shitngiggles
