I was going across 76 in Philadelphia this morning and hit a flooded out section in my tractor trailer and after I went through a foot to 2 feet of water I noticed a new bronco sitting disabled in the right lane half way into the next lane no lights on are these new broncos not able to handle standing water as well as we may think? Obviously I don't know anything about this particular persons vehicle like hat modifications may have been done but it was dead not a good sign when the guy in the civic was able to continue on his way after I made my way to the left most lane.

They shouldn't be any different than any other vehicle. Someone that has one may have more insight. It is possible the Bronco in question hit the water just right and got water in something that shouldn't have water in it.

Mabey it had an open-filter type intake on it, that the owner is now full of regret for installing 😋

Even with a hydrolock he could still toss the flashers on lol.

With nothing on, assuming he just didnt turn stuff on, sounds like something electric fried...majorly.

I was thinking cold air intake or fried electrical

General rule of thumb they told us at the off roadeo is they are rated to wade in water to the top of the factory bumper. That is kind of the built in guide, some sit higher and thus can deal with deeper water.

It looked like the sasquach package other that I don't know

That's as tall as they come. Maybe they hit it too hard.
Probably, I hit it at about 60-65mph in a volvo vnr and cut throttle but my intakes are on the hood up high.

I think there was an issue with the alternator some of the first models where it would short out in deep water or something like that. It was supposed to have been corrected though.

As long as they have the alternator mounted down at the bottom of the engine they will have unhappy alternators.

Iirc the issue with the Bronco alternators (19+ rangers too) was them getting packed full of mud/silt/whatever during water crossings and then not being able to make any more power. People who dipped them into clean water havnt had issues.

Unfortunately, given the situation, there is absolutely no way to know what was going on with the Bronco or if it was even the source of the problem that caused it to be stranded there. Without stopping to access the situation and contact owners/witnesses, we can only assume.

Given the location, I'm going to assume that the owner/driver could have been on something and thought he left it in the middle of a parking lot.
