as I just put new brake lines on the entire truck, I want to let you guys know of a new brake line option. It is a nickel-copper-alloy brake/fuel line that is guaranteed never to rust. it is from NiCopp, and it is made in the USA, in Michigan.

it is easy to bend and flare.

I know Advance Auto Parts carries it, not sure of other stores.

(Mods/Admins I am not trying to endorse product or store, just another brake line option. Please delete if breaking rules)

I don't know if its this exact brand, but I used something just as you describe on my dads F-150 6 or 7 years ago. Its just barely turning a little green, but no rust!

I know Autozone sells it too. I've started using it on all my trucks lately. The only bad part about it is that it is rather expensive.

Well, that and all the parts stores want to sell you steel tube nuts, which are prone to rusting. Kind of defeats the purpose of putting a line on that will not rust. I've been buying brass tube nuts to use with it. Wish I could find a source for stainless that wasn't hidiously expensive though.

Nice stuff. Non-rusting, and easy to bend by hand. Yeah, sux that they don't sell non-rusting fittings too. Here's what I used. With these 3 pieces, I replaced all lines ('97 w/o front ABS), and had only 3 feet left over:

Brass tube nuts don't rust, they can corrode a little and they are soft though. Not sure how other parts stores are, but I know Autozone sells the brass nuts individually packaged and each store only keeps like 2 in stock at any given time. IIRC, Rockauto has them, I'll probably get some with my next order.

Stainless tube nuts are nice. Only place I've found them though for 3/16" line is Summit Racing. Their price isn't all that bad, but you can only buy them as an assortment pack.
