FYI: BBK is coming out with a new throttle body for late model Ranger 4.0 sohc. They say it will be featured on their web site as they update it, and available in a couple of months. (The Mustang's 4.0 TB does not work on the Ranger's 4.0.)

damnit....yet another item to the want list. maybe i should wait on getting my tunes...have 'em written with the TB in mind.

Sweet, I want one, Xmas is right around the Corner, I've been good really:icon_rofl:

Don't throw your money away! A larger TB will just cause you problems, including poor throttle response. The size of the OEM TB is optimized for the best air flow & velocity.

Depending on what modifications are done to the engine, I would agree.

A stock engine will see no gain from a larger TB.

HOWEVER, an engine with a full exhaust system (heads, high flow cats, muffler) and a good true cold air intake will see better response from a larger TB.

What you suggested will make no difference at all! The OEM intake is a TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE. However, increasing the displacement, going to forced induction, or 4 valves/cylinder heads may require a larger TB! This is why Ford uses a larger TB on the Duratec 3.0L, than the Vulcan 3.0L.

I think you just like to argue.

^^You mean you've not realized that yet? Don't get him started on K&N or Screamin' Demon... I guess it's okay now....he's only stalking threads and not just stalking one member to start arguements all the time.

You guys are wrong again

I think you just like to argue.

What he's doing is trying to teach the truth!

Let me give you an example.

We all know what QUICKSAND is...right? Quicksand is the product of "word of mouth" advertising. It is a popular word that we all have heard and know what it is and does... But is it, and does it?

In order for an object to sink in water or mud or sand that object must be heaver than the substance it displaces..

So a human body must he heaver than the sand it displaces for the body to sink.. It cannot happen! Our bodies are almost exactly the same in weight as WATER much less being as heavy as any sand ever known.

So there is not now and never has been anything even remotely resembling quicksand.. Yet we all know what it is, don't we?

Well the same thing is happening to auto parts advertising.. And the truth needs to be said about it.. K&N is the new quicksand! A well known word that is impossible in real fact.

He's just trying to save people from buying worthless products...

Imagine you have a pipe, that starts at 3", then shrinks down to 1.5" in the middle, and then goes back to 3" at the other end.

In this analogy, your restriction is the 1.5" section (the heads, intake manifold and exhaust manifolds), and the two 3" ends are whats before the intake manifold and after the exhaust manifold.

You can enlarge the two ends as much as you want, but it's not going to improve your flow velocity if you never touch the middle 1.5" section! It's simple people.
