Well I haven't had my new Ranger more than 24 hours and had to have it towed back to the dealer:mad: It's got 67 miles on it. Found a huge puddle of tranny fluid all over my driveway. So I got to use the roadside assistance right from my own driveway to the dealership. Let's hope this isn't the norm for this vehicle (is this a common issue??). I've owned 2 other Ford trucks with zero problems.

But glad to be a part of TRS!

Holy crap, never heard of that before. Let us know what caused it.

Welcome to TRS!

Dealer said the seal between the bell housing/motor was not installed correctly. Apparently it has to be pressed in with equal force all around. They have to drop the tranny and reinstall. I've been denied a courtesy car....a follow up phone call WILL be made.

That's terrible. At least they are fixing it...Sounds like the pump seal on the trans.

These trucks are great. It sounds like someone was still asleep when they installed that seal

Got another call from the dealer today. Apparently, inside the housing there are 4 bolts that (for the life of me I can't recall what they go to :annoyed:) should have gotten some type of sealant on them prior to being inserted and torqued down. They said they "were bone dry" and so the fluid leaked around them and down into the bell housing and out. They reinstalled them, waiting for them to dry and will fire it up tomorrow to check for leaks. What a PITA!

You bought a new vehicle, and it's not operational because of something Ford screwed up, and you were denied a courtesy car for transportation? BULLSHIT.

Which dealership is this, so we can avoid it.

Sorry to hear your bad luck. I got my 2011 xlt in july and zero problems so far, that can't be the norm.
