Just bought a 2.3l ford ranger 5 speed, seems a little slow getting it up to 3K RPMS, wondering if thats normal or not but once it gets there its find it goes but really slow getting to 3k rpm

anybody also, found out thats it is a old work truck wondering if they put a different ECU in it. I could not even get it up a hill in first gear.....

Mine is doing the exact same thing

I don't know why it is taking it so long to get up to 3000 rpm, but from my experience the duratecs perform best in the 2500- 4000 rpm range.
