New 1988 Ford Ranger owner

Just got a 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9L 4x4 Manual transmission
any advice on these trucks will much appreciated.
I am currently looking for side mirror replacement if anyone could guide me to a good quality set.

IDK about quality, but I've been satisfied with with the K-Source mirror head I picked up at the local O'Reilly's. It's slightly different but it's not very noticeable and does just work. Tension seemed loose at first, but I haven't had to readjust it even after some rough off-roading.

I just picked some up right now, they are an exact fit to what I have with the arm assembly and all. The issue that I'm running into now is that I can't seem to move the assembly arm at all to open them up. Feels like they're "stuck" but can figure out how to do it. I'm adding a lot of pressure to try to open them but don't want to mess up the door or the assembly piece. So now im trying to figure that out, seems like everything I try to change gives me problems.

Factory green trucks (I think the normal color was called Spruce Green) are kind of scarce, especially in good condition.

Mine is a special fleet order non-metallic green.

Rangers didn't get full height seat backs until '91 and in general those seats were rare in Rangers but they were pretty common in Explorers so they're likely Explorer seats, doesn't really change much, they're some of the more comfortable seat options that bolt in and are easy to find...

It would be interesting to see a better picture. I had seats out of a '93 Explorer in mine for awhile, they looked newer styled than these.

I think that your seats are the originals.
From the 1988 sales brochure:

And, your truck's full door panels are still in nice shape, too, so I can buy that the seats are the OEM units.

Like everybody else, I'd love to see more pictures of this nice old truck.

Like I said, uncommon... I knew it was an option at some point but I didn't remember if full height seats came in before it was mandated in '91 (remember the whole whiplash debacle back in the day?)

Explorer seats in a first gen std cab are... memorable.

It would be interesting to see a better picture. I had seats out of a '93 Explorer in mine for awhile, they looked newer styled than these.

Ill take some pictures of the interior tomorrow, the driver seat was changed to a baja style seat. The guy did throw in the original driver seat in which looks just like the passenger (which im planning to put in next weekend) and gave me the tailgate as well in case i wanted to take the camper off.

Also my door lock knob keeps coming off. I bought a new clip for it and put it inside the hole to lock and unlock but if you open it at an angle it just comes straight out. I dont know if im doing something wrong with that.

your seats appear to be same design as 1987/1988 STX seats. My first Ranger i purchased in 1996 was a 1987 STX Highrider " Carolina 4 Runner " edition. i currently have a Black w/ Silver decals 1987 STX Highrider, they both have the seats that yours have. Nice truck man, andthe color is Perfect! Also, they are basically the same seat design as the V8 Mustangs came with starting in the late 80's thru 1993. After a little research, it looks like your seats are called the 1986-1988 High Back seats.
