About to purchase another 98 Ranger with a bad 3.0 engine. Found a 99/2000 Ranger 3.0 engine. What will I need to change over from the 98 engine to the 99/2000 engine to make this swap work in the 98 body.

I would switch '98 upper intake over to '99 so wiring harness has same sensors and controls to hook up to, and possibly the Cam Syncro, if it is a 3 wire and '99 is 2 wire you need to swap them.

'98 should be "returnless" fuel system same as '99, but '99 could be Flex Fuel or Gas only, these have different fuel injectors, so look at both engines and use '98 size injectors, if '99 has same size fine, if not swap them.

And remember to note on the rad support that engine is 1999/2000, there were a few changes in 1999, like longer head bolts and smaller valves.

Don't forget to change the rear main seal, cheap part and easy change with engine out
