i have a 90 ranger xlt work truck with no sway bar and i need one bad. i was planning on buying an aftermarket one but they all require facory brackets which my truck is not equiped with, so if anyone has some i can buy or knows of some or can give me another alternative, let me know. thanks

Honestly the best alternative is to go scrounge the junkyard. I can't speak to the front as I couldn't find any bars that would fit my 84 at the local one, but your 90 model is set up different. The rear you can pull from any Ranger or Bronco II and maybe some Explorers (if the have the removable axle bracket) and the most you will have to change on your truck is possibly drill a hole for the end link, but that hole is probably already there. You need to watch the sizing and make sure your front bar is larger than the rear, or at least that's my understanding.

My 84 was a base model with no sway bars, and IMO worn out springs. I ordered a front Hellwig 1 1/4" swaybar, and that by it's self made a world of difference. Before it felt like I was trying to make a sharp curve with a simple lane change, now I can take a 35mph curve at 80 no problem. (Not that I would do that. :D) I've still got a 1" BII sway bar to install just need to order the correct bushings for it. I will be ordering a set of DJM 3" Dream beams to lower the front, will be flipping the rear hangar. I'm also going to be replacing what bushings haven't been changed already with new poly bushings and putting in new springs all round. Can't wait to see how it handles when I get done. I think at that point the only other thing I could do without a 4 link rear would be larger wheels with low profile tires. That probably won't happen though I just like my magnum 500s to do it, but maybe I can find some 14" tires (or someday 15") with a stiffer sidewall.
