The racing stripes would look sweet, I know most ppl will tell u to go with the first but hey...

I will say if the paint job is anything less than perfect those racing stripes may highlight it. Might not be as good.

If you are going for a more low cost paint job then the first one may be a safer bet, and easier to do...

i'd do a 2 tone maybe something a little old school body color dark and the roof down the back of cab and faring white or light grey?

tmaxxman, you have an idea on the 2 tone i was referring to?

Racing stripes are best for muscle cars...the two tone paint is ok...solid paint is better but do a black out hood effect for custom looks.

I have a F-150 with the light silver and black, personally if I were to order a truck it would be dark gray and black. The light grey is almost too much of a contrast IMO.

When I paint my Ranger I am going to bedline the bottom edge, the way it is curved in it is very open to being pummeled by rocks from the tires... which is one of the reasons I want to paint it in the first place.

That's what I am gong to do. I am taking mine to the Rino Linning place and have them spray on the smooth texture look on the rocker panels. The guy is a frind of mine and he will prep and spray both my bed and the rockers for $200 he told me and I think that is a great deal......it will be more custom....lol

Id try a combo of both.

Do the paint like the 1st picture, but put 2 silver/grey racing stripes on the hood so it isnt all black.

Black hood equals more engine bay heat.

Not really, but the black out on the hood lessens the sun reflection and makes it easier to see when trail riding or serious wheeling!!! Besides I have seen shows and articles in magazines about black out hood schemes and the temps were not any hotter with black or any other color!!!
