need your opinion on paint

Not really, but the black out on the hood lessens the sun reflection and makes it easier to see when trail riding or serious wheeling!!! Besides I have seen shows and articles in magazines about black out hood schemes and the temps were not any hotter with black or any other color!!!

Well not to argue, but Ive seen shows that proved the black paint gets hotter.

I think Mythbusters had a show on it if I recall.

Not sure what blackout hood schemes are, but if it is flat black/matte black paint, then it wouldnt reflect the suns rays. It absorbs the heat though.

I love two-tone paint jobs. Strips look better for vehicles that are more non-factory tuned (chrome, custom parts, etc). When I saw a 2006+ Ranger in a two-tone red/silver, it was love at first sight. I never knew how sexy gorgues a Ranger could be in a red/silver two-tone. I've been mostly a white, blue, gray color favorite color person. Too bad Ford doesn't offer the two-tone any more.

Black paint absorbs the heat much easier then white or any other color but it wouldn't transmit the heat directly to the engine. Besides there is usually insulation under the hood to keep heat from getting out or in. Not to mention the truck has a cooling system and should be fine. Cop cars do blacked out hoods still. So do most fire/forest trucks...

My black F-150 gets a lot hotter than my dark green Ranger. As far as inside goes... they both get pretty freaking hot. To the point you gotta roll the window down to breath.

I had one of those indoor/outdoor thermometer clock deals in high school. My Ranger would get get to 130-140 degrees pretty regularly inside the cab during the warmer part of the school year in the school parking lot.

Racing stripes are best for muscle cars...the two tone paint is ok...solid paint is better
