I found a black Westin brush guard. I was just curious what you guys thought about it.

looks like its doing an excellent job of keeping brush off your parking spot (and the other spot it's double parked in)

c'mon, at least hold it up to the truck for the pic!

Let me run over the stupid thing and we will see what we think about it. Why is it laying in a parking space?? Waiting for a real truck to fit under it?....lol

Dude, if you want to put that on why ask us??.....It is for your truck. Put it on, you don't need to ask what we think about it! We will judge it when it is mounted....lol

i think it looks a lot like this one (minus the built in receivers)

No is my vote.

trashcat, why u have to be a dick sometimes?

Hoosier, if ur going for the street look, like non all terrain tires and such, i think it wont look good.

if u plan on gettin agressive tires later, then do it. u know i love brushguards.

i hate those things, that's my opinion, take it to the scrapper and go buy yourself a beer with the change

I do not own it. I found it on Craigslist and was considering it.

I already have a good set of all terrains on my truck and going to get a better set once these are worn out. My truck is used for anything I want it to do. It is primarily used for street though since there is not a lot of places for me to go wheel.

Because I tell it like it is, lol.....I do agree with you on a lot of things, Bro. Like I said, it is his truck, let him put what he wants to on it. Nothing wrong with a brush guard...I used them before. I see all kinds of vehicals here that have them...some cars as well and some SUV's have them (2wd, 4wd, Awd).

Life is like a box of chocolates...you know the rest.....lol

You got a nice looking truck. It will look great on it.

Brush guards can cause damage, however, an ARB cowcatcher style bumper offers complete protection for the front.

That all depends on if you want to change sheetmetal or frames.

I opt for sheetmetal, I got my Westin Sportsman to keep deer out of my radiator of my '150 so I don't get stuck in the middle of nowhere. The extra lights I mounted on it really help for spotting deer too. I paid $60 for it on craigslist and had to repaint it, I can't vouch for how good their powdercoating is... I was not at all impressed with mine.

If I hit something hard enough to push it into my truck, then no durr it would have been hurt without it anyway.

No matter what you put on a truck it can cause damage, Bro. I have seen cowcatchers that were totaled after rear ending another vehicle or hitting a tree or a human evan at slower speeds!!

If u mount it with the gay mounts they bring yes, it will get pushed into your engine.
fab up something better and u wont have that problem.
unless ur driving through walls.

I am picking it up tomorrow night at 1830 EDT. :yahoo:
