I move fast. need input . 84 ranger
As a mech, (monkey) I have access to many cheap use parts.as the base.

Every thing I get I rebuilt. I do it once the first time .last rebuild 8yrs ago.

complete f150
complete explorers , doner vechs.

Up front ----here is my arguement. dont be shy to say its dumb.

F150. dana 44 up front

F150 9" rear

Ok. she is wide

Its easier to put on fiberglass fenders.? than to shorten the TTB?

fiberglass fenders allow articulation with out a lot a lift.? lower C.G?

light truck. over kill, mybe. if I hit something or scew up. less damage

if damaged. go to wreckers, replace stock parts , cheap and available.

dana 44 and springs. why not mount the spring more inboard on the TTB.

its a light truck. what 3" to 4".???

As a mech the novelty of building. Is not so strong.

Using it is way way more fun, for me.

I dont like to fix my truck. reliability and strenght .I'll put in good part to last.

multipurpose vech. I have lockers . ZF trans. np 205 with reduction box 4:1

fresh 2.3T

rock crawing is big on the Island. (never done it but going to.)

Logging roads, every were. higher speeds

Wont do it unless, I can do it right. I mostly fix stock vech.

NEED YOU EXPERIENCE , Need Your ball busting

Is this for the '84?
If you want full width do it. FWIW, the axles from a 1st gen Explorer are a nice upgrade over stock '84 axles and only about an inch or so wider.

And you can swap the Dana 44 outers onto the Dana 35 from that explorer and have a front axle that's just as strong as a Dana 44.
The Explorer 8.8 Rear axle is just a narrower version of the F-150 8.8 already
