2.3L ('83-'97) Need suggestions for misfire and roughness


Didn't get time to check the front wheels, before it rained today.
Jacked up the whole rear axle.
Brakes are free, in the back. Reverse is clearly broken somehow, the engine bogs down a little, and doesnt spin the wheels. Clunks into gear a bit different, maybe because it's on the jack. idk. Engine spins wheels in neutral, and real well in drive. In fact. I wonder if the back brakes work. It doesn't stop when I hit the brakes in Drive at all, and barely in neutral. But that might be the old problem of the back brakes not ever working right.

Im thinking might be time to let the old guy go. 357K, and previous MN winters haven't been nice.
 
It sounds like the transmission is toast
