Still could be the RAM chip...if you can find a replacement unit for parts that would be a good project...they're not hard to work on...just a pita for someone with big hands...lol

Just an update. Replaced the motherboard tonight and it works fine now.

pffff.

Once I took my xbox 360 apart to it's basest components. The disc drive was a pile of parts on my desk.

It worked as well as it did before once I put it back together.

That's my next project. Red ringed xbox for my brother in law. Ive just never
taken a laptop apart lol

LOL...probably as well as some of the things I've taken apart...I have a box of extra parts that seem to not be needed by these things...

Just take out the little red ring and paint it green and it works fine...
