Need Some Answers Front Suspension

Kris97ranger, you are correct in that I have very little TTB flex, neither down travel or up travel, the stiff springs "push" the truck over IMO....everytime I get the front on a hill, my back starts teetering, giving me the seesaw effect...I can put lockers in, but my suspension will still send me on my side...

i wasnt meaning keeping the ttb but just rather then having a "stupid amount of lift" u can get the same results and just as much articulation with a lower lift. so you dont end up on ur side again.

That may actually be true, but "Stupid maximum flex" said to me you were wanting something that could like twist the axles 90° to each other or something, which would be crazy on anything but a full-blown rock buggy. That kind of flex would do nothing at all for your handling, and might still land you on your side just the same when the super-soft suspension unloads itself as gravity takes over.
There is a "sweet spot" when it comes to flex, and the overall handling characteristics of your vehicle... Too little OR too much, and you increase the chances of spending more time on your side.

As for coils, I would think something around 300-325PPI mounted in a typical fashion (not inboarded) would be close to ideal on that. Anything you can do to add (or transfer) a little weight above or behind the rear axle will help a lot too (that's one thing I always noticed about my Ranger, they are very nose-heavy, and probably contributed to your little adventure there too). Maybe mount a fullsize spare tire on it "prerunner" style.

However I also tend to agree with what some of the others said about your above mishap too. Had you turned right a bit, your left front tire would've then rode up the other side of the ditch, allowing your right-rear tire to set back down. It also looks about 2-3 feet to the left of where you were would've been a much better line to take through that ditch.

What's a little body damage ? Just a fun day wheeling if you ask me . :icon_thumby:

I wanted to, but they had trees in the way of approachin the ditch just outside of camera view...I tried to hold it straight, but when I was climbing the other side, a little throttle pulled the wheel to the left and I was unable to turn it back, also contributing to the rollover, along with the super stiff suspension...on a side note I can take a corner like no other!!

meh somtimes u put it on its side it kinda comes with the game. but if u have the time and $ to do it i dont see why you wouldnt build ur truck the way you want to. who knows u can always lock it after u do the suspension. at least u got away with minimal damage. look what i get to deal with after putting mine on its lid
