I'll save the story on why and just leave it as "because I want to"...lol

So I want to run 37's with around 4" of lift, on my '93 Ranger 4.0 4x4 etc etc.

I need opinions on how to do it. I have a 4" kit that I'm going to be putting in soon (rough country with drop plate replaced with a custom VMS bracket) but other than that I have 2 complete D-35 TTBs a welder and a decently setup shop. The only thing I do NOT want to do is cut the shit out of fenders and bedsides, it looks like ass and I'd rather buy fiberglass fenders/bedsides.

I was thinkin of making some extended Radius arms out of some box tubing but I have no clue what else to do.

Any Ideas? I kinda wanna know what else I could do to make it a low big wheeler.

Ben

big tires on a low ride means you will have to cut the shit out of the fenders, im not even sure fiberglass fenders would work for 37s.

I had to finally cut my fenders running what's in my sig... I couldn't take the rubbing at full flex.

You're dana 35 won't like 37s for too long....just an FYI

cut out your stock fender "flare", widen it, and move it higher up the fender. lots of welding, but a stock look with a bigger wheel opening

I want to do that on a first/second gen but this one I want fiberglass...LOL

I was afraid of the D-35 strength, and to be honest I'd be willing to try a TTB D-44 (I'm also stuck on using a TTB) for width and strength/availability of parts.

My buddys are making nice SAS Rangers but I want to show them that a ttb can be just as good if not better.

Like I said still brain storming...LOL

Fiberglass.
The Front set I have on 9"lift made my 37s look tiny. I know You can fit 37's in the rear with little as 3". So I'd say 4" in the front and rear and glass fenders in the front at a minimum. Then you come to the weak point, the D35. I'm not sure what to tell you there. I'm in the process of swapping in a D44 TTB on mine..

cutting fenders properly and moving the flare up is great... if you can do it.

why not the famous "cut n turn" process or whatever it is for ttb?
i still don't see why you want 37's and 4" lift w/ minimal fender trims? it's not 'that easy'

Find the prerunner fenders with the biggest opening towards the rear of wheel opening as possible, and plan on modifying the TTB brackets to move the beams foward 2-3". In stock wheel location I rubbed 35's with 7" of lift.... tire width and wheel offset will play a HUGE factor in how well you clear the tires. Stock rear fenders will tuck 35's HARD.... but they rub bad with a full 37" tire.

This pic shows the gain in clearance I got with 'glass.

I'm running 37"s with 7" of lift and the front axle pushed forward 6" and I still rub a lot. Fender trimming is on the list of shit to do, but I digress. Obviously Gen 3s have larger wheel arches, but I'm not sure that you're going to have enough room even with prerunner style glass fenders.

But....give it a shot and let us know how it works out.:thefinger:

They're called Palm trees, they grow in the same kind of climate as these.

Not to start a debate on TTB vs. SAS, but there's a reason why alot of people ditch the TTB stuff when running bigger meats such as cost and 'dead simple' factor. Plus, unless you have somewhere to wheel at speed (think desert/dunes) the TTB never really gets to shine IMO.

Sure it is (37's, 4" lift over stock). Looks like I'll barely have to trim the rear, and the front will remain mostly untouched (See sig for more info):

From my admittedly small experience, it appears that the Dana 35 TTB outters are going to hate life with a passion with big meats. So either budget for a TTB 44 swap or a hybrid D35/D44 outter setup if ou want to keep rocking that.

Once you start talking that kind of money/effort, you should start thinking SAS unless you can get out and play in the dunes often enough to justifiy it.

Either way, its your truck so rock what makes you happy. Just be sure to take some photos along the way!
