so, i need new shocks for the back of the ranger. im trying to figure out what kind of set up will suit my needs the most, so i sould probably fill you guys in on what kind of driving i do.

-i go to the mall a lot
-i like to park at the front of the walmart parking lot to show off my rig
-its also used to pick up some full figured ladys at the local piggley-wiggley
-and i live in a burned down trailer at the junkyard.

i was looking on line and found this......

what do you guys think? should i go for it?
this should work right?

Yeah, a great set-up right there. I'd add a shock or two on each side though; I'm not sure you'd have quite enough dampening with that set-up. You should still have some room on that crossmember.. If you don't enough room for the lower mounts on the axle, just weld to the blocks at a 45 degree. It'll help a lot!

I was thinking of mounting some crosswise, and having them connect to each side of the axle, even though there is no movement between the axle tubes, i want to be prepared.

was also wondering if i should add another 4" lift block on top of the one in the picture?

Oh that's a good idea too, I hadn't thought of that. You could another 4" block, but will your ladies be able to get in then? You might want to think about some sort of ladder or similar device mounted on the rocker panel so they don't have to jump.

Whoa dude. Your setup is wrong...

...you should have gone with Ranchos! j/k

I think he missed a spot over the diffy housing.

Pete

NO NO NO NO.

You are going about it all wrong. For that stuff you need stronger springs and one BIG shock on each side.

the sad thing is someone took this picture and thought that they did a good job....

i was thinking bed hoist?

WOW! 10 Shocks on one axle. What exactly was that thing built to do?

i counted 13, 7 on the right, 6 on the left, lol.

Bed hoist! Why didn't I think of that? You must be a genius, after all, you did come up with that set-up.
