need oil filter adapter

somehow the male nipple backed out on the oil filter adapter and the oil filter with it this winter when it was 5 degrees out. lost all the oil , spun some bearings. starting to rebuild but having trouble finding a replacement. wanted something new, not from the junk yard. Is this a common defect? Thanks ,Mark:

I believe the 4.0 OHV adapter will work. They are still available from the dealer since there was a service bulletin out on them because they were leaking due to porosity in the casting.
