Think my turn signal switch is worn out, I seem to have to play with it to get it to work. Anyway it's a 96 and I am trying to figure out if this is a common problem, because if it is then it would be useless bying one from the junkyard with the same problem. So with something like this should I just pay Ford the big bucks for a new one?

What is it doing? Sometimes it helps to spray electrical contact cleaner down around the hazard button and operate it a few times.

Well, if you consider yourself handy, it is pretty easy to take apart and clean. If it is working mechanically as it should (turning off when you complete a turn, etc.) then it's most likely just in need of cleaning. I cleaned the unit up on my F150 a few months ago, and it works perfect now.

cleaned mine out works great now.

The problem is the windshield washer fluid button won't always work. it can be kind of dangerous when I'm driving and my windows are dirty and I have to press that button half a dozen times or more for it to come on, the same thing with my left turn signal, sometimes it just doesn't work. What exactly do you guys mean by cleaning it? remove the part and and spray electrical cleaner on the Contacts?

Yes while your there inspect it for any charring in case a pin or something failed. Don't forget to clean where it plugs into as well. Just use electrical cleaner, brake cleaner, maf cleaner etc something that dries quick and doesn't leave residue.
