Confused and Intolerant
I need a VIN decoded for me so I can search it, its being sold to me cheap, so I wanted to see if it was hot or not (the guy said the previous owner could not find the title), its a 70's Suzuki T250, god condition, 2-stroke, oil injected, seat is shot, very little rust (mainly on chromed area), and I offered him $75 when he asked me, and he ask me if I was serious, and when I said yes, he told me to put it behind the house.

The motorcycle was in his front lawn on the stand with a sign and some other junk for sale too. This guy is elderly and has quite a few older vehicles, but never hurts to check this. I don't really know him.

VIN: T250-45587

I was told by my research that this is the VIN (and it said it was on the stamped metal on the motorcycle, every digit and letter is there, none covered up, scratch out, or missing), needed to be decoded.

Once it is decoded I can search it.

I need help doing this, I cannot find out how.

With that old of a bike...like all of mine...you only need a bill of sale in almost every state. Check your state law on it. If that bike was mint it is still not worth alot of mony. I had three of them and mine looked brand new and I sold all three of them for $1500 and thay all ran like new. You can go to a police station as well to check and see if it has been stolen.

okay, thanks!

talked to Jason about it (he is buying it and I am paying him back), and we will have it in around 3 weeks =)

and looks like I now need help in how to get a bill of sale o_0

You can get a form form the Internet (Google Biil of sale form)). Or, a clean legal size peice of paper with hand righting or typed up from your word document is acceptable and you will have to get a Notary Public to sign and stamp it. Make sure bother buyer and seller signatures are on it of course.

Good luck!!!

well, our local notery is in Williamsport an hour away >.<

or you can go 45 minutes south =p

But alright, can you find me an example, my internet is acting up

Alight, my VIN was wrong, here is the rest of it =p

T250-45587

Can anyone decode this for me?

Got a few images, some my camera refused to take =p

You do know you can call them and they can decode it for you, right?

How do the mufflers look on the inside? They have a habit of rotting from the inside out.

Edit:
A quick google search put its as a '76 GT250.

The only problem with using 1976 is that the bike is from 1967-1972, and Jason has an '81 GT800

probably gonna call tonight

Found out from dad that the mark on the handlebars (right above the crossbar, where the steel is discolored) the metal was heated up and repositioned. It did come from a scrapyard owner =p.

He thinks it was in a crash, a front flip or hard side collision. The gas tank is missing the mount bolt, and its been repainted red (see primer under the tank). It was spray painted. Most likely because it looked ugly.

The pipes I will check once I get it (or on next check of it), because if it is to dangerous to ride or not worth fixing, I can part it out for a good deal more than the $75 (+BOS ~$40) invested into buying it.

NEWS: Not getting the cycle, looks like its been through a bad crash and was fixed by reforming the metal on it, without reinforcing it. Also, it will cost quite a bit to get a title, not to mention a lot of work, and the fact it was in a crash makes it just about impossible to get registered.

But today I am going driving with the school's instructor, no school today, but he called me and told me we can go driving this weekend. wish me luck! (going at 3)
