well i work for a washer/dryer buisness and pull a trailore pretty much everyday i need more hp and more torque i dont have the money for a swap but have some money is there anything out there to give me more hp for a the least money or not real expensive

If you want horsepower your gonna need lots of money. My advice would be to regear your rear end so that way it will make towing that trailor easier. What are the specs for your truck?

Try finding a 4.10 axle and a 5spd. You'll love it then.

??

but if i get a 410 rear end dont i have to get a front 410 or my 4x4 wont work?

yes u will, but really, it will be alot cheaper/easier to get a set of 4.10 axles if u go junkyard hunting then it would be buildin more power with the 3.0

410?s

would i get them out of the fx4 model or can i just buy the gears and put them in i also am going to put a locker in the rear?

u could get them from a fx4, but they dont have to be, any ranger 8.8 w/4.10s will work(and of course the pig from the d35), just get a open carrier that way u can put a locker in it, u cant install a locker into a LS carrier

or u could get gears and have them installed, but that would be a bit more costly i would think (gear installation usually runs atleast 250 per axle) lots of times u can get complete axles for that much

thanks

thanks man im new to ths ranger stuff ive only had a ford for 2 years now befor i had a chevy and i would never get anything but a ford

np man, happy hunting and let us know how it turns out

if anything go for 3.73 gears , both my rangers have them , one with a l/s and one with an open diff , they are great for towing and return decent mileage , when my step dad bought his 00 F-150 7700 he specically asked for 3.73's because they were great for plowing and towing , the only two things that it gets used for
