Don't ya know, a sock makes a great high-flow air filter, just eliminate your entire stock intake, put a sock in the throttle body, and you make 50 more hp!

Actually, I use old socks as rags. I used the sock to keep debris out while I work on getting the valve cover off.

Good point Jim, people would be asking about the sock. Better not to use it. Maybe I'll make a trip to the junkyard and snap a few photos of their pulled Ranger engines.

If nobody comes up with one sooner, I should be able to get a 90-94 4.0L motor shot in a couple months (sooner if this nice weather keeps up), and an 89 2.3L shot. If I woulda had time, I would have a nice shot of a 2.9L, but...
