Hi....Rookie to this Forum....but am in my 60's and have owned about 80 vehicles in my life.
I'd like to find a chart of Ranger specs....weight, length, etc., for all years of the Ranger. I'm trying to determine when the Ranger went big. I've owned several Rangers in the past, but they were more S10 size. What year did the Ranger start to approach 150 size...?
Thanx.

It never did in the US.

Wikipedia has the wheelbase stuff.

The US Ranger has stayed almost exactly the same size through 30 years of production. The most notable size change being in 1986 when the super cab was introduced and it added about 10 inches to the wheelbase of the longest model.

About 2 years ago the global Ranger was released outside of North America and it is about 90% the size of an F-150.

Ah.......Me thinks he's looking at Gen I VS Gen IV's. It is a visual size difference not a physical size. When the Ranger got it's 1st major refit in 93 the body panels became more bulky. As time progressed Ford made the Ranger to look like a little brother to the F series. By 2012 the Ranger did look much larger than say the 83 model.

Sorry I don't see it:

The gray one is my '99 Extended Cab 4wd (when it was almost stock), the blue/silver one is my '84 Regular cab Long bed 2wd (stock height, RIP). I suppose that the '93+ might look bigger if you haven't seen them side by side. To me it's not really noticeable, yeah the body lines make it a little wider but the only real place I notice the added bulk of my '99 is on the interior.

The F-100 or F-150 series had a Ranger option in the late 60's and thru the 70's.. but they were an option package on an F100/150 truck not a seperate truck altogether. As far as size, that's the only thing I can think of that's comparable.

Same here.

I have an 87, one of the guys I used to work with has a 91, our boss has a 95 and our one parts guy has an 01. Park them all side by side (which we have done) and they are all the same. I think mine sits a bit higher in the rear.

(Finally able to get on line).Thanx all for the info. I guess it must be a visual illusion that older Rangers look smaller than the newer.
