i was scoping out a local online classified add for a ranger and came across this.

the guy states that the truck " The truck has 146xxx mile on it. However the truck does need a tranny. I am not really sure what is wrong but the truck only has 4th gear. None of the others work"
is it possible it just needs the shifter ball on the shaft? I'm shocked the clutch didn't give out first?

Worst case; what's your time and a tranny plus $500 truck worth versus what the truck is worth fixed.

the input gear on the trans is toast.
that generally takes the countershaft, so
you will need a different trans.
