what happen was i went to start it up ut it dint want to start... so i kept trying and got it goin... started down the road about 1-1/2 mile down the roas it seem to loose poer and act liek it wanted to stall....well then it sounded like soem havin a gun fight in the engine or under the truck... i drove it hoem doin about 6mph , it would go no faster and now what it was home it has a miss but ever tiem i give it a little gas it gets wrost ...any ideas

Your problems kinda sound like mine did found cats plugged then bad grounds on motor chassis and cab. Then found out tfi module on distributor was bad, pulled it had checked failed 3 out of 5 tests replaced runs good

well you should have a ground...on the firewall side near the TFI going to the back side of the block or the head...there should also be a ground from the cab to the frame...as well as the ground from the battery.

so what codes have you turned up??

check for codes. We are just going to guess with out them. I am thinking bad o2 sensor, but codes will tell more.

How did you "gut" the cats? I don't think mine are plugged but they have 147,000 on them and can't be flowing to great.

catalytic converters will rarely plug unless the truck has been dumping large amounts of fuel or it has been burning oil for an extended period of time. If that was your only problem it would run alright for a few seconds and you would have hardly any flow coming out of the exhaust while it was running. Most likely your problem is elsewhere. Check your wiring, check your fuel pressure, pull codes, Your computer needs a few grounds to work correctly, there is one to the back of the passenger side head, one to the battery, and one to the cab in the general area of the computer (passenger side kick panel) What do your plugs look like, are they sooty and black? wet and black?, oily?, white?, brown? is your egr valve operating correctly? If it was stuck open your truck would run really bad. Make sure your o2 sensor wiring has not melted on the exhaust, have your tfi module tested.

Sounds like my old motor 3 days before it died. Run a compression test might have a cracked head.

i just cut them off

turns otu it was the fuel pressure regulator i put a new one on and in 2 seconda it was running fine

the plugs were dry and black i think one was a little wet and black
