Can somebody identify this sensor for me I’ve tried looking at Google and I feel it should be the oil pressure sensor but when I look it’s in a different location. 2.3L 5 speed

I don't know the 2.3 as well; but the similar sensor on the 2.9, in the side of the oil pan, would be the oil level senor (which is different than the oil pressure sensor).

It does look just like the one that's on a 2.9.

Change? Why change it? I've barely touched the one in my '90 and at one time it was a very valuable feature (fought oil leaks for a few years) and it always worked... might leak but much less than other areas... if it helps it doesn't turn on the light until the oil is 1.5-2 quarts low...

If you're worried about the oil seepage from it, just clean it up, unbolt it, add some new thread sealant, and reinstall.
Unless you know for a fact that the sensor is bad, there is no point in replacing it.

I agree with you 100% it has helped me and does work! I will leave it as is! Thank you for your reply!

Thank you this is what I’ll do! Yup just worried about the oil seepage but it does work. Thank you very much for your help

If it's seeping there you could take it out and make a gasket from a plastic oil jug or something (I haven't had one out in a long time, it could use an O ring) then thread it back in, you can't get too crazy since it's one wire it uses the threads for the ground side.

Perfect use for a copper crush washer...
