Got a 88 B2 but it's a mid 87 build so the clutch hydraulics are the older style(not quick connect at the slave)...... putting clutch kit, flywheel, and slave in this as well as a fluid change beings I bought this site unseen "running and driving great" and turns out it was worse than described. Anyways..... ready to pull the trans out BUT I can't get the hair pin clip out of the slave that holds the line in, thought about just cutting the line beings its all being replaced BUT I can't find a replacement line anywhere! Everything that shows up is for the 88+ style with the quick connect. Does anyone know of a company or have a part number I can reference from to find a replacement line? This thing has me pulling my hair out! Also, when reinstalling this setup does the hair pin clip go into the slave from outside of the bell housing? The way my mind works it's screaming that it should get inserted from the outside of the bell housing pointing in but the one I'm fighting is inserted from inside pointing out.....

I feel your struggle. I've been there. Here is a picture of how it looks off the vehicle. Those lines aren't made anymore. You can cut the line and mend it when you put it back in service.

I managed to finally get the master out of the firewall and removed everything from the reservoir to the slave all attached, once it came out and I pulled the bell housing off the old slave came out and what was left of the hair pin clip fell out, the last guy to tear into this put the line onto the slave then put the bell housing on so the round part of the pin was pinned in between the bell housing and the slave. Let's just say it's going back in the opposite way so if I have to remove the line for anything I don't have to pull the entire trans to get it out

Thanks for the response and the idea of mending the line with a brake line coupling. Didn't even cross my mind

you can put an fittings on most of them too. really makes it easy.
