I have a 1996 ranger with the 3.0, it’s 2wd and the tranny shit the bed, I can’t find a decently priced one but I found a 4r44e out of a 2000 ranger with the 3.0 and it is also 2wd, are they compatible

I have a 1996 ranger 3.0 2wd, will a tranny out of a 2000 3.0 2wd work as a replacement because mine died when the front pump went out

these guys say it will work and could have come in a 96

Ford 4R44E Transmission: Specs (transmissionrepaircostguide.com)

and our tech section says it came with a 3.0
