Need help!

my 2wd ranger i think has a 7.5 ford axle. while on jacks stands i deiced to put it in gear. i noticed that the right axle was not turning. but in reverse they booth moved for a litte bit then the right one stoped. what do you think it could be.

you have an open differential. that is normal.

Thing is when I spun the right wheel it made a loud screaching nosie! I think the parking brake is stuck on on right side! I later opened the drain plug to find metal shavings in the oil

80-90 weight gear oil, no additives needed
