When i crank up my ranger, there is this pining noise, after it idles for a while the noise fades ALITTLE then comes right back!! Is there any one who knows what this is or that can give some advice???

does it sound more like a ticking noise than pinging? A ping could be from to much carbon buildup, bad gas, or timming being off. A tick could be the lifters being out of adjustment or low on oil. A lound knocking could be anywhere around the crank (bearings, rods, wrist pins. etc.)

If it does it cold right after you start the motor then it isn't pinging.

Does the noise change with throttle position? Does it get louder when you step on the gas?
