need help with the eff tree fitty

completely dead. not an ounce of juice getting to anything. nothing. not even a little sparky spark when I hook up the batteries.

a few weeks ago the engine died going down the road and I had nothing just like above and towed the truck home.

got the batteries out and charged them because they were weak after having sat. put them in and had power to everything. turned the key and heard a clunk and the whole thing went dead like having a deadman switch.

it could be that is the original problem but my batteries spent 2 days on the charger. I put the batteries back in and it went clunk when I turned the key then nothing.

Off the top of my head, I'd say you have an electrical problem.


A bad ground could do it.

Sounds like a bad battery connection. It could be on the power or ground, either at the battery or at the block/starter connection.

Might sound weird, but check the fuel heater bowl.. look inside it, make sure it's not grounding itself out... I've found this to be a common thing on 7.3's of people in the local club.

if that's the case.. you can unplug the fuel bowl heater, replace the blown fuse and drive it.

no blown fuses and the fb heater has been unplugged for a while

What about the starter? That could of been draining your Batteries in the first place.
