ok the tag on my axel reads:

V330L
10 88 3j20

can some one tell me what it means :icon_confused:
trye lookin it up in the tech pages but coul not fin anything.

This same question shows up so very often. It's a 4.10 open gear, 8.8 rear The number 4 is hidden under the bolt that holds the tag on. It's the bottom left numbers to be concerned with.

Kind of a rare combo for a 2wd 3.0 truck too...

That is the date code not what you think it is. The gear ratio should be closer to the bolt hole. Before that I see "88" and before that I see what appears to be a "27"? Sand the tag off and get a better picture

3- is the month
G- is the year
27- is the day

this tells what the other numbers mean, but i dont know about that v330l?

Them numbers are a mystery. I ofter thought they were a production line number or maybe a calibration code that they put on the tag for that step. The rearends are setup by pressing the tubes in and then they weld them. So it may show the calibration of the jig where it was setup for the day.

That would be a couple steps before they put the diff cover on though...
