just bought a k&n cold air intake for my 99 ford ranger. how do i remove my air intake box i guess u call it? donts know but just need input

IIRC, pull the top toward the engine, then spray the bottom pockets with some kind of lube spray and pull upward. Nothing holding it but rubber grommets.

Leave the good stuff in there and take that junk back!

thanks for the info. going to go do it here in a little bit. ill post pics of the once i install the cai

WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! did u buy a CAI our trucks already have one stock!

Hehe... TRS hates CAIs... For good reason. Heat sink sucks.

But they do look pretty :)

Shoulda warned ya...

If it was me, I'd just run the pretty colored smooth k&n tube to the stock airbox which draws outside air from under the headlight as opposed to engine bay air.

...and whether it filters better or worse is up for debate... I splash in too many puddles to run anything but a snorkle anyway so I won't give my opinion on them.

Post pictures though, I kinda like seeing pretty engine bays.
