i have a 95 xlt short box with the regular cab and a 5 speed. my rear of my frame is rusting out. i was thinking of moving the rear end forward 12-18 inches and putting in a new rear brace so all the rot would be gone. does anyone know of a driveshaft that i can use that would be 12-18 inches shorter than my stock one?

You could try a B2 shaft. I am not really sure what length you will need after that. You could always take it to a driveline shop and have them shorten yours. Mine only cost $40 to have shortened.

If you move the rear end forward, how will you adapt the wheelwells to fit the new wheel location?

You're probably better off fixing the frame, or cutting the frame and bolting on a good rear section.

You'll have to address the location of the fuel tank too. Maybe move it onto the flat bed cuz there won't be any room underneath.
