If anyone has done this then please let me know how I remove the linkage from the column.... Or do I have to remove it from the transmission itself? It's my only means of transportation right now and I need it back together on Sunday!

Thanks, Derek

What are you removing it for? You can pop the ball socket off the shift lever on the side of the transmission if you are just needing to disconnect the shifter cable.

I am doing a heater core on a 2001 :black_eye: This requires removing the whole dash.... I popped the ball off but it's still on the bracket. This bracket actually is the steering column assembly. I am thinking its a solid piece (the linkage) so far and maybe I will have no choice but to unbolt it from the transmission.

Never mind.... I finally got my big head close enough to see the bracket is a C shape and the cable fits inside of it..... I just tapped it out.
